Masterfully hand-knotted at the turn of the 20th century by skilled Persian Bakhtiari artisans, this exceptional antique wool runner beautifully captures the rich botanical artistry and historic warmth of classic tribal design. Measuring an elongated 3′ x 11’6” ft., the piece is anchored by a deeply saturated, beautifully abrashed crimson-red field that exudes a rich, time-honored character. This striking canvas is dominated by a magnificent, elongated ivory central medallion that gracefully stretches across the interior, showcasing a classic, highly detailed “Tree of Life” motif complete with a central botanical axis, blooming floral branches, and an elegant traditional vase. The highly detailed interior elements are vividly rendered in a rich, contrasting palette of soft rose-pink, vibrant green, mustard gold, and deep indigo blue, all elegantly framed by a dark, intricately detailed main border adorned with continuous meandering vines and floral rosettes to powerfully anchor the composition. Preserving a charming, authentic patina, this captivating antique masterpiece serves as an exquisite foundational layer, perfectly proportioned to effortlessly anchor a sweeping gallery corridor, elevate a long kitchen space, or bring bold, historic warmth to a grand transitional hallway.

To ensure the longevity and beauty of your hand-knotted rug, regular maintenance is essential. We recommend vacuuming your rug frequently, being careful to turn off the beater bar to prevent damaging the natural fibers and delicate fringe. If spills occur, blot the area immediately with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing, which can push the stain deeper. Rotating your piece every few months will help it wear evenly and minimize color fading from direct sunlight. Finally, to truly protect your investment, we advise having your rug professionally washed at our Evanston cleaning facility every few years to gently remove deeply embedded dirt and restore its original luster.
