Antique Bessarabian Kilims and rugs, crafted using both pile and tapestry weaving techniques, are among the most exquisite carpets produced in Europe. Created under late Ottoman rule in what is now Bulgaria and Romania, these rugs blend European and Oriental weaving traditions. Others, especially flatweaves, draw inspiration from Turkish kilims of Anatolia but showcase a distinct Bessarabian color palette.
