Decorate your wall with the romance and historic grandeur of this 5′ x 6′ ft. French Jacquard tapestry. Depicting a classic pastoral scene inspired by 19th-century European artistry, the composition centers on a courting couple dressed in soft rose garments, resting beneath the shade of a vibrant tree inhabited by an exotic bird. The idyllic landscape is rich with verdant details, featuring oversized foreground foliage, a playful hound, and a distant hillside chateau gracefully woven in harmonious shades of earthy green, warm gold, and muted beige. Framed by an ornate floral border that perfectly encapsulates the lush, natural theme, this exquisite textile provides a captivating visual narrative. With its inviting, time-softened palette and classic romantic appeal, this beautifully detailed tapestry serves as a sophisticated statement piece for a grand dining room, an elegant master suite, or a refined library space. Considering it’s age, this lovely tapestry does have some color running and minor areas that could use some restoration.

To ensure the longevity and beauty of your hand-knotted rug, regular maintenance is essential. We recommend vacuuming your rug frequently, being careful to turn off the beater bar to prevent damaging the natural fibers and delicate fringe. If spills occur, blot the area immediately with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing, which can push the stain deeper. Rotating your piece every few months will help it wear evenly and minimize color fading from direct sunlight. Finally, to truly protect your investment, we advise having your rug professionally washed at our Evanston cleaning facility every few years to gently remove deeply embedded dirt and restore its original luster.
