Masterfully hand-knotted by skilled artisans in India, this exceptional wool area rug brilliantly reimagines classic Turkish Oushak design through a highly distressed, modern abstract lens. Measuring 9’1″ x 11’7″ ft., the piece features a luminous, beautifully abrashed field of pale ice blue and soft grey that exudes a serene, contemporary character. This heavily oxidized canvas is dramatically detailed with the erased remnants of a traditional botanical pattern, showcasing scattered geometric palmettes and angular vines vividly rendered in tones of rust-terracotta, warm gold, and deep navy. The striking distressed effect reveals contrasting, abstract patches of crisp ivory and deep indigo, seamlessly blending old-world heritage with a bold, borderless expressionist aesthetic. Woven for enduring longevity and exquisite texture, this magnificent transitional masterpiece serves as an ideal foundational layer, perfectly proportioned to effortlessly anchor a sleek formal dining room, elevate a serene primary bedroom, or bring sophisticated, textural depth to an expansive modern living room.

To ensure the longevity and beauty of your hand-knotted rug, regular maintenance is essential. We recommend vacuuming your rug frequently, being careful to turn off the beater bar to prevent damaging the natural fibers and delicate fringe. If spills occur, blot the area immediately with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing, which can push the stain deeper. Rotating your piece every few months will help it wear evenly and minimize color fading from direct sunlight. Finally, to truly protect your investment, we advise having your rug professionally washed at our Evanston cleaning facility every few years to gently remove deeply embedded dirt and restore its original luster.
