This oversized area rug, model GS-1016, measures 10’0″ x 14’0″ and features a heavily distressed, transitional geometric design. The canvas utilizes a varied teal blue foundation that transitions into deeper navy tones toward the lower edge, creating a highly textured, gradient-like backdrop. Organized across this field is a structured, repeating grid pattern of stylized geometric rosettes and interconnected cross motifs woven in contrasting shades of muted rust, soft coral, and silver-grey. The composition is heavily defined by prominent horizontal color striations (abrash) and an intentional “erased” vintage finish. This deliberate distressing obscures portions of the underlying geometric grid and softens the delicate, narrow vine-and-leaf border that frames the piece, resulting in a relaxed, worn-in aesthetic that prioritizes texture over sharp pattern clarity. Crafted with a resilient modern construction, this piece features a dense, manageable pile designed to withstand regular daily use while preserving its complex visual depth. Scaled as a substantial room-sized carpet, it provides generous floor coverage ideal for anchoring large transitional living rooms, spacious formal dining areas, or open-concept interiors.

To ensure the longevity and beauty of your hand-knotted rug, regular maintenance is essential. We recommend vacuuming your rug frequently, being careful to turn off the beater bar to prevent damaging the natural fibers and delicate fringe. If spills occur, blot the area immediately with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing, which can push the stain deeper. Rotating your piece every few months will help it wear evenly and minimize color fading from direct sunlight. Finally, to truly protect your investment, we advise having your rug professionally washed at our Evanston cleaning facility every few years to gently remove deeply embedded dirt and restore its original luster.
